BOOSTER BYTE 42
It’s not the crisis, but how we respond to the crisis that defines us. Leaders have a different perception of how they define crises. A mid-level parts manager at an automotive manufacturing plant might define a crisis as the looming bankruptcy of a major supplier of dashboard components. The Leader, on the other hand, might look at the same fact set and see an opportunity. Finally now is the opportunity to take in house a critical component pipeline. She could buy the dashboard supplier and their assets and provide a financially stable place to work for its employees. By going vertical, the Leader sees an opportunity to increase gross margins where none existed before. That’s resilient thinking.
